# Setting working hours and availability

> Working hours tell Cura when you're open for business.

Working hours tell Cura when you're open for business. Once they're set, your AI only ever offers slots inside them — so a customer can't request you for 11pm on a Sunday you're closed.

By the end of this guide, you'll have defined when your workspace takes appointments, so every time your AI proposes is a time you can actually deliver.

## Before you begin

* You'll need **Admin** or **Manager** access to the workspace.
* Working hours and timezone are set together in **Business Availability**.
* Working hours are **per-workspace**, so each location can keep its own schedule.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Business Availability">
    * Open **Bookings**. With a single workspace selected, the **Business Availability** panel appears alongside your bookings.
    * Check you're in the right **workspace** — the panel applies to whichever workspace is selected.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set your timezone">
    * **Choose your timezone.** Your working hours and reminder times are all interpreted in it, so set this before anything else.

    <Check>Cura now knows which timezone your hours are in.</Check>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set your open hours for each day">
    * **Turn on the days you're open** with the switch next to each day, and leave the rest off.
    * **Set start and end times per day.** Many businesses differ by day — e.g. shorter hours on weekends. Set each day to match reality, then **Save Changes**.

    <Check>Cura now knows your weekly schedule and will keep every suggested time inside it.</Check>
  </Step>
</Steps>

## How availability is worked out

When the AI proposes times, it looks at your open hours for the next several days and offers **one-hour slots** that aren't already taken by another booking. In other words: your free slots are your working hours minus whatever's already on your calendar.

<Note>
  Suggested slots are one hour long. There's no per-service duration that changes slot length, and there's no separate breaks/lunch setting — to close part of a day, set that day's start and end times around the gap.
</Note>

## Troubleshooting

* **The AI offered a time I'm closed.** Re-check the day's hours and your timezone, and confirm you're editing the same workspace the conversation belongs to.
* **No slots are ever offered.** Make sure at least one day is switched on with open hours set.
