# I can't switch workspaces or see a workspace

If a workspace is missing from your list, or you can't switch into one you expect to see, it's almost always a permissions issue — your role doesn't include access to that workspace. The good news: an Admin can fix it in a moment. Work through the checks below.

## Before you begin

* Know which **workspace** (business or branch) you're trying to reach.
* Have a way to contact an **Admin** on your account, in case they need to grant you access.

***

### 1. Confirm the workspace exists on your account

A workspace lives under your account — make sure it hasn't simply not been created yet.

* Open your workspace switcher and review the list you can see.
* If the branch was never set up, an Admin needs to create it first. See [Workspaces explained](/team/workspaces-explained).

### 2. Check your role and access

What you can see depends on your role. Staff members only see the workspaces and teams they've been given access to; Admins and Managers see more.

* Ask an Admin to confirm your role and which workspaces it includes.
* If you should have access but don't, have the Admin add you to that workspace.

<Check>Once you're added to the workspace, it appears in your switcher and you can switch into it.</Check>

### 3. Refresh after changes

Permission changes don't always appear instantly in a tab you've had open for a while.

* Refresh the page or sign out and back in.
* Confirm the workspace now shows in the switcher.

### 4. Note what's hidden without access

Some things in Cura are scoped to workspaces you can see — so missing access can look like missing features.

* Conversations in a workspace you can't see won't appear in your **Inbox**.
* The **Unrouted** filter (conversations with no workspace yet) is visible only to Admins and Managers, so Staff won't find it at all.

If you're trying to route an unrouted conversation and can't see that filter, that's expected — ask an Admin or Manager to handle the routing. See [Why is a conversation marked "Unrouted"?](/faqs/why-unrouted).

<Check>With the right role and a refresh, every workspace you've been granted will be visible and switchable.</Check>

<Tip>
  Only grant each teammate the workspaces they actually need. It keeps their Inbox focused and your customer data tidy.
</Tip>
