Overview

Instagram integration allows your team to handle Instagram direct messages from Cura. This is useful when social support volume is high and you need shared ownership, routing, and reporting in one workspace.

What this channel supports

  • Inbound and outbound Instagram DMs
  • Team collaboration and handoff workflows in Cura
  • Shared inbox visibility across channels

Requirements

Instagram messaging integrations typically require:
  • An Instagram Professional account (Business or Creator)
  • The Instagram account linked to a Facebook Page
  • Admin access in Meta Business settings
  • A Cura workspace admin role

Setup

  1. In Cura, go to Settings > Connect channels > Instagram.
  2. Click Connect Instagram.
  3. Sign in with the Meta account that manages the Instagram profile.
  4. Select the connected Instagram account and linked Facebook Page.
  5. Grant permissions for message management.
  6. Choose the destination inbox in Cura.
  7. Send a test DM to confirm sync.

Platform rules to know

Meta messaging policies apply to Instagram as well:
  • Free-form business replies are generally tied to a recent-customer-message window.
  • Outside that window, message delivery can be restricted by policy.
Use approved campaign and response patterns that align with current Meta rules.

Troubleshooting

  • If the Instagram account does not appear, confirm it is Professional and linked to a Facebook Page.
  • If messages do not sync, reconnect the channel and re-authorize all requested permissions.
  • If replies fail, check policy-window limits and account health in Meta tools.
