Some AI settings in Cura apply to your whole company, some to each branch, and some to each channel. Knowing which is which saves you from a common surprise: changing a setting in one place and wondering why it did (or didn’t) affect another branch. This guide maps every AI setting to its scope, so you always know where to make a change — and what that change will touch.
You’ll see branches called Workspaces in settings and Branches in the top navigation. They’re the same thing. (See Workspaces explained.)

The three levels

Think of your AI settings as living on three levels, from widest to narrowest.
  • Account-wide — one setting for your entire company. Change it once and it applies everywhere.
  • Per-workspace (per branch) — separate settings for each branch. What the AI knows lives here.
  • Per-channel (per inbox) — separate settings for each connected channel. Whether the AI is switched on, and when, lives here.

What’s scoped where

Account-wide: how the AI speaks and behaves

These settings define your AI’s personality and ground rules for the whole company. There’s one set, shared by every branch.
  • AI Rules set the tone (friendly, neutral, matter-of-fact, professional, or humorous) and length (short, standard, or long) of every reply. See Setting your AI’s tone and length.
  • Advanced AI instructions are your written guidance — communication style, when to escalate, and any other directions in your own words. See Advanced AI instructions.
Change the tone, length, or advanced instructions once and every branch picks it up. There is no separate copy per branch to keep in sync.

Per-workspace: what the AI knows

This is where each branch differs. The AI’s knowledge is kept separate per workspace, so the Sukhumvit branch quotes Sukhumvit’s prices and the Chiang Mai branch quotes Chiang Mai’s. When a conversation belongs to a branch, the AI answers from that branch’s Knowledge Base, FAQs, and Services. Add a new service to one branch and only that branch’s AI starts quoting it.
Per-workspace settings do not carry over between branches. Adding an FAQ, a service, or a Knowledge Base document to one branch leaves your other branches unchanged. Each branch is set up on its own.

Per-channel: whether the AI is on, and when

Switching the AI on or off — and deciding its hours — is done per channel, not for the whole company or the whole branch.
  • Master AI switch turns the AI on or off for a single channel. You might let the AI handle your LINE channel while you reply to Instagram by hand. See The Master AI switch.
  • AI schedule sets the days and hours the AI replies on that channel. Outside those hours, messages wait for your team. See The AI schedule.
Both live in each channel’s settings, so every channel can be different. See Per-channel settings.
Running more than one branch? Set up the knowledge once per branch — its Knowledge Base, FAQs, and Services — but only touch tone and instructions once for the whole company. Then flip the Master AI switch and AI schedule on for each channel as you’re ready to go live. That’s the fastest path to launching a new branch without re-doing your AI’s voice.

A quick mental model

  • Changing how the AI sounds? That’s account-wide — it affects every branch.
  • Changing what the AI says about services, prices, or policies? That’s per-branch — it affects only the branch you edit.
  • Changing whether the AI answers, or when? That’s per-channel — it affects only that one channel.
